About

I am a mathematician, and work as a software engineer.

The purpose of this weblog is partly to provide myself with a set of notes that I frequently wish to refer to, accessible from nearly anywhere, and partly to share some information that I hope others will find useful.

As a result, most of my posts will be about mathematics or computing (or both).

My mathematical interests include:

  • abstract algebra
  • combinatorics
  • computer mathematics
    • arithmetic and numerical
    • symbolic
    • in software
    • in hardware
  • mathematical logic
  • mathematical statistics
  • sequences and series
  • topology

Thanks for notes on locale and boost time_facet, i was deleting the time_facet thinking it need to be cleaned up and it was causing my application to crash. So thanks for posting your finding. Best of luck to you.

I’ve used this blogg more than once!

    Interesting SVN experience recently Rob!
We had a corrupt revision. Verify and hotcopy DIDN’T show any problems. It was only noticeable when I did a dump, where is stopped at the erroneous revision!

    Cheers
